Following the footsteps of renowned design institutions such as the Parsons School of Design in New York or the acclaimed University of the Arts in London - which run both fashion programmes and centres focusing on sustainability and environmental issues - Esmod Berlin can now be proudly said part of the rather exclusive list of schools in the world that offer a specific Master of Arts course in this very relevant topic for contemporary fashion culture. 

As the eco-centric trend establishes itself with greater strength and ecological concerns rise, the need for such a degree was indeed evident. Even though Berlin can count already on successful eco-fashion events - such as the Ethical Fashion Show and The Key To including the recently added SCOOP platform - with the first M.A. students newly graduated, a significant contribution is to be made by bringing into the market a new breed of environmentally aware designers and fashion consultants determined - so we hope - to challenge our perceptions on these key subjects.

So take note: next weekend at the Platoon Kunsthalle in Berlin, be sure not to miss the opportunity to check the final works of the first Esmod M.A. graduates in Sustainability in Fashion. The exhibition will showcase an interdisciplinary range of proposals from 12 graduates, ranging from multifunctional outdoor garments to footwear design, textile production, marketing and some pretty elegant tailoring. We can't wait.
