It was a beautiful Berlin Saturday with a bit of a breeze, so I decided to take advantage of the non-debilitatingly hot weather and get out of my usual Kreuzberg/Neukölln haunts. So I headed to Prenzlauer Berg to check out the first White Market of the summer featuring a plethora of Berlin’s independent designers selling a wide range of clothes, accessories and shoes for very reasonable prices. Although it is quite small you’re are sure to find something you fancy in the handmade mix. I scored a unique necklace made from an East German stamp that I have been wearing ever since. But even if you are just in the mood to peruse, it's a beautiful setting and a nice change to be able to actually meet the designers as you check out their goods. With still three Saturdays to go this summer you haven’t missed out just yet. Take a look at the website as different designers are featured each Saturday and then make a day of it with a little shopping followed by maybe a nice dinner around the corner when you're done.
