"Hope" was last weeks subsuming/pooling term about fashion-world´s young member Berlin. What we were shown at another, progressive fashion event offsite, can´t be called anything less then FAST-FORWARD-MOVING.

"Start your Fashion Business", a part of the value competition "Berlin – Made to create", was launched last week by the Senate Department for economics, technology and women at WMF. Since money and economical knowledge are seriously determining factors when starting a fashion label, the founders are focusing especially on the financing part. The prices of 25.000€ for the winner, 15.000€ for the second and 10.000€ for the third. The jury was made up by Christiane Arp (Vogue), Melissa Drier (Womenswear Daily) and Anita Tillman (Premium Exhibition Berlin).

As I don't have any aesthetic expectations for  "Fashion-Challanges", either in Germany non everywhere else, I truly can't deny my enthusiasm given by "Start your Fashion Business". Maybe this could generate the assumption you simply don't know about the participating designer and their history. But my care in this matter is much more general; e.g think about location, set-up, models, make up, etc. It's always the ensemble of all elements at a happening place! And apart from delay of inlet ports, that was heavily discussed during standing-around at the gates, the curators simply offered proportionally an extraordinary experience. In my mind it went so far, that I didn't cared about the winner announcement at the end. The 5 nominees of the night – Perret Schad, Sadak, Margiotta Plaskova, Vladimir Karaleev and Michael Sontag, who was the nights winner along 100 candidacies –  already turned the project into a WIN situation for Berlin Fashion Week at a early moment.

As a successful Fashion Week is not merely set by the so called "main" event, this kind of site-happenings, mentioned as well for .HBC Couture: Designer Scout, are significant spice ups to ensure continuance as well as the particular something. They back the characteristic touch of each fashion week city and separate the wheat from the chaff. And Berlin walks its own line with its lights getting increasingly bright.
