When it comes to a rough, urban, utility look in fashion, I often refer to JULIAANDBEN. My understanding of the label was reconfirmed when I recently saw their AW 1011 collection, amusingly titled 'Leave The Money In The Office", at Arne Eberle's showroom. As refining procedures like dying or distressing the fabrics are characteristic attributes of JULIAANDBEN, this time they tried another texture process by rusting the fabrics for days or even sometimes weeks.
The fabrics in that constellation had an interesting impact as it reflects the urban lifestyle of large cities at best - tough, dirty and sometimes vamped up. I also love how they drape the fabrics, whereby they create a variety of silhouettes, by changing particular parts. The look varies according to your perspective. If you look e.g. at the second picture below and compare the sleeves, you´ll see what I mean. Another item that works really well might be the rusty textured tie-dye leggings, wich you can also combine with an oversized white t-shirt or simply a (boyfriend) jeans jacket. The sexiest item is definitely the black fur cape – just gorgeous! The collection will be in stores in September. In Berlin you can find it at: A7, JB Space, Wald and Styleserver.
