By fashion whore I mean a Fashion Designer who sells their creative juices to many the fashion companies.  But no offence! If only we all could have enough juices for the top ranking fashion houses such as Louis Vuitton and now possibly Christian Dior.

Despite the fact that LVMH’s CEO, Bernard Arnault once said, "Had I hired Marc Jacobs for Dior and John Galliano for Louis Vuitton, it would not have worked as well for both brands, even though both designers are geniuses of their own." They are now all singing a different tune post the anti-Semitic slurs that ripped out of Galliano's mouth over 6 months ago. Marc Jacobs having Jewish parents probably doesn't hurt his candidacy.

Forget the fact that I think Marc Jabobs is perfect for LV, but I was really rooting for Riccardo Tisci. I thought he was a shoe in especially after the incredible display of decadence and femininity in his work for Givenchy and that was where Galliano was working at prior to Dior.

Regardless, LMHV is still shopping for a designer to take the throne at Dior and this week they are in serious talks with Jacobs to settle on a deal. Azzedine Alaïa , Hedi Slimane, Alber Elbaz, Nicolas Ghesquiere and even Haider Ackermann were also considered though no female designers were considered like Phoebe Philo.  Instead she will take over Jacob’s position at Vuiton if Jacob’s were to accept Dior’s offer. Then who would design for Celine? Personally, I think they should give the Dior post to Donatella Versace who might not be nearly as good enough a Designer for the position but it would help the Versace brand.

I would love to know Karl Lagerfelds opinion; after all he’s the biggest fashion whore on earth. Designing for his own brand and Chanel and Fendi and in the past Chloe, Curiel, Tiziani, lingerie for Eve Stillmann; shoes for Charles Jourdan, sweaters for Ballantyne. And who can forget H&M. Has Marc Jacobs ever designed for H&M?  Has John Galliano?
