Balenciaga's latest video for Resort 2012 proves the aesthetic of the brand is directional and comprehensible. WIth leggy model Jamie Bochert , the video gives us a realisic portrayal of wearable couture. The prints and colours pop over the minimal set design, with overlapping images that create the impression of a very professional in demand woman. The entire video along with theatrical soundtrack is one of the best videos I've seen in a long time. Mainly because it is not selling a brand through ridiculous gimmics as Lanvin's video, portraying models dancing like fools to music by "Pitbull", (which, consequently I cannot publish anyway due to song copyrights here in Germany). Instead with it's simplicity, one focuses on the clothes and artisry of style and how class is innate in the collection.
Photographed by Steven Meisel, the production has included other top contributors such as Stylist: Marie-Amélie Sauvé: Hair by Odile Gilbert: and Makeup by Pat McGrath .
