.DMITRI The Great
Apparently, the Greece based designer Dimitri came up with a pretty mixed style in his Spring/Summer collection 2011. What might sound negative on first sight, left an overall impression, somewhere between lovely and sophisticated.
Surprisingly, the very first part of the collection started deeply folkloristic with a touch of the avant-garde, underlined through sharp and edged cuttings. The colorful patch work dresses in various purple tones appeared in stiff and mixed materials, supplemented in shiny and matte surfaces.
The second leg was distinguished by a high-end orientated African safari trip. The catwalk suddenly turned into a world insisting of Leo patterns and sand tones, which was highlighted by inaugurated red scarfs at the hips.
The third and last part was definitely the most elegant, consisting of short cut, glittering, soft and floating dinner-come-cocktail-dresses – the last dress had a beautiful, richly detailed, golden necklace. This last dress was the icing on the cake, it will stay in my mind for a long time.
