The first Ladyfest was held in Olympia, Washington, in 2000, as a part of the Riot Grrrl movement to bring forward a platform for artistes, musicians, activists and anyone else in between or combined that wanted to give grrrls a voice to speak about their trials in tribulations in a gender conscious society. With a range of happenings including gigs, zine fairs, workshops and total involvement to help better each other through working together, the event has gone down as a hot tipped happening guaranteed to make you proud to truly be yourself and part of something bigger and better that helps make a difference. The fantastic Berlin based feminist festival that is open to everyone is looking for people to get involved to make it happen again this year.
