Schwarzhogerzeil
Located on one of the greatest little side-streets for shopping in Mitte - Mulack Strasse - you will find Schwarzhogerzeil, a gorgeous boutique run by the unassuming and charming Nicole Hogerzeil. There is a well-selected mix of International brands with hip local Berlin brands such as American Vintage, Isabel Marant, Sabrina Dehoff, Cacharel and Zucca - all of them feminine and quietly sexy, which is what this store is all about. They also recently launched a new store 'Blau' a few doors down that have more quirky brands and vintage pieces (look for the store with the blue floor).

Superficial
The newly opened 'SuperficialÄ epitomizes Berlin’s nonchalant yet edgy urban style. Where over-sized screen-printed rock'n'roll tee’s and unique prints can be found. For all the more feminine ladies out there is also a nice selection of charming flimsy dresses. Superficial houses mostly Asian designers, and you can also find Bangbang’s very own fashion editor Aycha Araya’s line there - amongst other things she makes the most sunning jumpsuits you will ever see! The prices are reasonable too, ranging from 20 euro for a tee up to around 250 euro for dresses. The pinstriped walls, neon lamps and stylish clothing are bound to get you into the Berlin swing of things.

Apartment
This store is so cool that there is actually no sign on the door and their entire ground floor is empty (unless its being used for an art show. Apartment store actually exists down a blink-and-you'll-miss-it spiral staircase. Once in the basement you will discover the mecca of directional, edgy, young and achingly hip brands for both women and men. The colour-palette of the clothes is predominantly black and grey in here, with the occasional dash of blue/red/gold/silver. Brands include Citadel, Tuesday Night Band Practice, Bernhard Wilhelm, Rick Owens, Vladimir Karaleev, Sansovino 6, MA+ and many more. If you love unusual cuts and materials and pride yourself on being a step ahead of the rest then this is the place for you - just be warned they are a little pricey.

L'éphémère
Here you can find a stylish Parisian breeze blowing through Berlin Mitte. This little boutique located on the busy Alteschönhauserstrasse stocks French clothing label Sessun and French accessories label Virginie Monroe - meaning you can stock up on that je ne sais quoi that boys love so much. The clothes are mostly soft and feminine or preppy – they do lovely summer dresses in summer and cool chunky knits in winter – all at reasonable prices.

Das Neue Schwarz
Das Neue Schwarz is Berlin's first and only selected vintage online store run by Tanya who is dedicated to sourcing unique pieces. They also have a small location on Mulackstrasse where you can pop in and browse the items personally. The online version is great though, you can select shoes, bags or women's clothing and take your pick from cut-price second-hand Raf Simons, Bernhard Willhelm, Martin Margiela, Cheap Monday and Bless (which are all popular brands amongst those notoriously hard-to-please Berliners, so you can certainly tell this is a Berlin-based company!)
