Berlin has one of Europe's strongest Bio-food markets; if you prefer eating all organic, this city is defenitely the place to be! The bio scene is constantly growing and it has become a way of life for many Berliners... There's a huge selection of places offering organic foods, but we listed the ten best:
1. Little Otik
Graefestrasse 71.
10967 Berlin
Tel: 030 503 623 01
Little Otik was born out of the Palisaden Supper Club, an underground dining club run by New Yorkers Kevin Avery and Jeffrey Sfire. Their living room dinners were so successful that the duo decided to open a ‘real’ restaurant, but without losing the homely and welcoming atmosphere.
Their menu changes all the time - (they print a new one daily!) - and depends on what’s in season or on offer at local farms. Make sure not to skip on dessert; that’s chef Kevin’s favourite thing to make!
2. Däri
Oderberger Strasse 6.
10435 Berlin
Tel. 030 648 354 50
www.daeri.de
This little shop on Oderberger Strasse specialises in dairy products only: from käsekuchen to home made quark, frozen yogurt, butter or pudding, as long as it is made out of milk. Their ingredients are 100% organic, regionally produced and seasonal. Däri is owned by Stefan Falger and Stefan Keiser, two German milk-fanatics who aspire to get dairy products more appreciated. You can enjoy your milchkaffee at the Milchwerkstatt & Milch-Café itself, or make use of their take away services.
3. Cookies Cream (above the Cookies Club)
Behrenstrasse 55
10117 Berlin
Tel: 030 280 8806
www.cookies.ch
If you’re in for a more avant-garde bio food experience, head to Cookies Cream. This quite high-end restaurant is part of the famous Cookies Club and offers an all-vegetarian menu. Their edgy but chic interior is a mixture of semi-industrial elements; exposed brick walls and minimal white tables, with an open kitchen that’ll provide some entertainment after ordering the food. Cookies Cream offers original, delicately flavoured and beautifully presented dishes, but is a bit pricey when compared to other Berlin restaurants. Finding this venue can be pretty difficult though; it’s hidden down a back alley, in a carpark behind some bins and without any signs (dont be alarmened, this is the sign of a true hipster joint!). Just ring the doorbell!
4. Caramello
Rykestrasse 7.
10435 Berlin
www.caramello-dopamino.de
Creamy, tasty, made of quality ingredients and all organic: they provide you with some real good stuff at the Caramello ice cream parlours! Next to a wide range of freshly made ice cream (some flavours are even vegan), they serve coffee, homemade cakes, milkshakes, teas and much more. The ice cream costs you €1 a scoop – not Berlin’s cheapest – but you won’t regret it…

5. Witty's
Wittenbergplatz 5
10789 Berlin
Tel. 030 211 9496
www.wittys-berlin.de
Even Berlin’s famous currywurst can’t escape from the bio-trend. Witty’s Organic Food, a snack bar located just across from the KaDeWe department store, is the right place to get one of these tasty sausages - all bio of course. This fast food place offers other organic snacks as well: hand-cut Belgian fries, Wiener wurst, hamburgers and bratwurst with different home made sauces. Like all organic products Witty’s sausages are a bit more expensive than the ones you can get at other currywurst stalls, but worth it. Plus point: They serve champagne as well! Check their website for their different venues.
6. LPG Biomarkt
Kollwitzstrasse 17.
10405 Berlin
Tel: 030 322 971 400
www.lpg-naturkost.de
LPG - billed as Europe’s biggest bio supermarket - stocks over 18.000 different organic products, from fruits, vegetables, meat, cereals and beverages to cosmetics, household articles and special baby food. Their stores on Kollwitzstrasse and Mehringdamm host a BioBistro as well, with organic coffee specialties and snacks on offer. You can also become a LPG member, which means that for a monthly membership fee you will receive a discount on all your purchases. Reason enough to become a regular customer! Check their website for the adresses of their other venues.
7. Kollwitzplatz Organic Market
Berlin 10435
Tel: 030 4433 9137
One of the most pleasant things to do on a sunny day in Berlin is stroll through one of its many farmers’ markets. On Thursdays and Saturdays, you can find one of the best eco-markets at Prenzlauer Berg’s Kollwitzplatz, with - especially on Saturdays - a rich and varied offer of locally produced and organic products. Over 35 market stalls are brimmed with fresh herbs, pasta, baked goods, fair-trade goods and all the other bio-products you’d wish for.
Other organic/farmers’ markets in Berlin: Chamissoplatz (Sat), Seelower Strasse (Sat), Lausitzer Platz (Fri), Hohenzollernplatz (Wed+Sat), Pasteurstrasse (Sat).

8. Pappa e Ciccia
Schwedter Strasse 18.
10435 Berlin
Tel: 030 616 20801
www.pappaeciccia.de
Whether you go here for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner or a cup of coffee, Pappa e Ciccia will provide you with the best of the Italian cuisine. They try to use mostly organic and regionally produced ingredients to prepare traditional and modern Italian dishes, like hand made pasta and tasty salads. Pappa e Ciccia’s take out counter - located next door on Choriner Strasse 19 - offers freshly made Italian delicacies as well, next to a wide range of coffee specialties for take away.

9. Pink Flamingo
Eberswalder Strasse 28.
10437 Berlin
Tel: 030 762 169 82
Pink Flamingo, a restaurant located on Eberswalder Strasse, is without doubt Berlin’s best place to get all-organic pizza. This not-so-traditional pizza joint serves a quirky menu: their pizza’s are named after famous or historic figures (like Björk, Basquiat or Ho Chi Minh) and follow particular culinary traditions (for example, the La Gandhi -pizza comprises an authentic sag paneer base, topped with homemade baba ganoush and mozzarella). The chef’s favourite? The L´Almodovar, a special Spanish paëlla pizza. They serve tasty salads as well!
Plus point: Mauerpark-delivery by bike during summer.

10. Fresh'n'Friends
Kastanienallee 26 + Friedrichstrasse 26.
www.freshnfriends.com
The best thing about Fresh ’n Friends - a stylish bio foodstore located on the bustling Kastanienallee - is the fact that you can shop around the clock: it’s open 24/7! They have a wide range of organic products on offer, from ‘every day articles’ like toothpaste to fresh fruits and vegetables, sandwiches and sweet delights. It’s the perfect place to get a late-night snack or Sunday meal, while all the other stores are closed.
