Kinderwirtschaft
This café is really amazing and with a great design! It's situated in the ‘Samariterkiez’, just opposite a huge playground. You can visit on a cold rainy day, but also take ice cream on a sunny day! The food and cakes are simply great! Created by designers specifically with kids in mind, every element of the cafe communicates with the children. The main area is very stylish, for parents who want to enjoy their coffee and let their kids play. Then comes the main play room, where there is a white wooden construction, with a little world created behind there! Kids can climb in and explore, jump, slide, fall in balls. Just great. Then there is the baby area where smaller kids can play in a ball pool full of colour. Asides from their daily lunch menus, every Friday they do a great early dinner buffet (perfect for tired children who need to be in bed soon) and on Sundays brunch is offered. You can also get a card which you can stamp every time you go there and after 10 entries you get 1 for free. Don’t miss out on the special arts and crafts courses shown on their internet site (such as sewing/knitting!). The friendly staff are always ready to offer solutions for all the needs that parents may have.

Just meters from Boxhagener Platz on Krossener strasse you find this beautiful café for parents with kids. Parents can enjoy their coffee and the kids can play for a small charge. There are 3 rooms, the main one, has some sitting space and also sells handmade things for kids. The other two rooms have much space for kids to run, draw, or climb on the amazing wooden climbing corner! The cakes are great and there is a great variety on breakfast. The menu includes a big variety on snacks for kids and adults of course! On the weekend you also have the possibility to enjoy a brunch. Just book on time as it gets busy in here!
A tip: take your kids there to play until lunchtime, then let them sleep on the stroller and get a minute for yourselves to enjoy the surrounding shops!

When you enter this cafe you get a real feeling of art being everywhere. It's a great location with beautiful colourful rooms, but the best feature of all is the idea behind it. This café is open some months of every year and then transforms itself into a family house to be rented!! Wow, impressive ideas like this makes the difference in Berlin. Directly on Helmholtzplatz, this cafe offers another experience. Indoor you have a space with sand for the kids, so that the little ones can keep the contact to their favourite plaything, even in the winter days. Different toys are here and there in the sand area, but also all over the cafe. What’s really special here, is that you also get a great garden with bikes parked everywhere for use. Flea markets, theatre, films are offered. Drinks, cakes, toasts are all in the menu. Highly recommended!

This café offers a great ice cream not only for those with kids, but for everyone passing by. Just a stone's throw away from Helmholtzplatz, this café, with its second-hand furniture, the great costumes for kids, the indoor playground for older kids - which is safety-approved - and the ball pool for babies is great fun. A real wooden house for kids with a kitchen, a table and chairs, cars, baby toys can be found around. Charlottchen
Restaurants like Charlottchen, make it really easy for parents to go out for lunch or dinner, in Berlin. With two huge rooms, this restaurant is really special. The one room is recently renovated with a very nice design and ends up in a huge wooden theatre stage with slide!! This is for the kids to play on until the real theatre opens its doors at the other side of the restaurant. The smaller ones can also play under this stage, as there are many toys for them as well. What is great is the walls covered with carpets in great colors, which gives a warm look, but also protects kids from all falls!
The other side though is special cause it has kept the look of an older typical german restaurant, ending up in the real theatre for kids! I recommend it totally, as the food was really good and we had lots of fun there. You can go there with kids of all ages, but the older ones can also see theatre, it’s just great!

Avril is placed in Graefekiez, Kreuzberg, just some streets from Maybachufer. The food is vegetarian but also has fish plates and very nice cocktails for the naughty parents. It’s a really children-friendly restaurant! It has a big space inside and a big terrace for the warmer days, outside. The salads are really fresh and I always think someone just cut it fresh from their garden!
What is great for a family, is that there is a room just for kids, with some toys, a blackboard with chalks for drawing, books and several other little things that could keep kids busy, while parents can enjoy a lunch, dinner or just a coffee and cake.

This restaurant is amazing for the warmer days, as its outdoor space includes a playground with sand and some ping-pong tables. The Spanish tapas, but also daily menus, offered are seriously tasty. What is worth a try (or two, or even three!!) is the amazing brunch buffet with Spanish but also Mediterranean dishes. The opening hours are longer on the weekends, so parents can enjoy a brunch, or a lunch or an early dinner before the restaurant transforms itself to a nice bar later! One should not forget their ping pong rackets and some toys for the kids, to play on the sand. Of course, there are swings, climbing ropes and many bikes touring around. A tip: for football fans this is the best place to go with their families. Everyone can be happy, as the restaurants has screenings of live football almost everyday for ex. Bundesliga, champions league, and international games.
