French Alice Baillaud is a young, interesting artist whose work is a breath of fresh air, often dealing with very humane subjects around the themes of healing and suffering. I first heard about her at Art Clinic earlier this month, where she was in discussion about her recent works.
She is set to transform Berlin's Memorial For The Murdered Jews of Europe (Holocaust Memorial) next week in to Red Leaves River. Barrels full of red leaves, inspired Alice says, by Berlin's beautiful autumn colours, will be poured in between the stelai contrasting strongly with the grey colours around the memorial site.
Alice works alongside two other collaborators: Benjamin Baillaud and Mark Emblem. The transformation is a performance piece from Baillaud taking place on Monday 25, 12 until 5pm, she will be picking up the leaves Friday to Sunday, as there are four days this week, when there is no rain forecast.
If you'd like to participate in the installation please contact Alice on her facebook site, where there are full contact details.
