Backjumps – the magazine and exhibition project that centers itself on urban communication and the aesthetics of its unique environment is set to host a new happening at a project space in Kunstraum Kreuzberg/Bethanien on August 28 that is designed especially with kids in mind. Every piece or art surrounding the event will be designed from a pint size point of view.
For this very special exhibition, curator Adrian Nabi, invited nine international artists, who work in the context of street art, to present their view of 'childfriendly' spaces and art experience. The exhibition takes into consideration as a foundation that children often react very curiously and enthusiastically when facing a work of art. The artists will transport their experiences in exposure to urban space and the stimulus satiation of the streets into the exhibition space and translate these for children's eyes and senses. They will attempt to develop physical formations which appeal to children without being childish - and, of course, the pieces will speak to adults as well. A central aspect are the workshops as an integral part of the exhibition: The space that is hosting the exhibition will also be used for activities throughout its opening hours.
Following that, pop down to Kreuzberg Horst for an afterparty with the likes of Sven Weisemann, Session Victim and Richard Zepezauer will celebrate the Backjumps show on the dancefloor.
